Jaren Wilkey is the Manager of BYU’s University Photography Office, which provides photographic services to the BYU community. He started working for Brigham Young University in 1998 as a student photographer and has been a full-time Manager and University Photographer since 2003.
In addition to photographing news, press releases, events and features for the University, he also serves as a Team Photographer for BYU’s 19 Division 1 Athletic teams. He has received numerous awards for his photography from CASE, the Utah News Photographers Association and the University Photographer’s Association of America. In 2011 Jaren was named Photographer of the Year by the UPAA. Jaren also teaches workshops on Sports Photography, Wireless Event Workflows and Photography for Social Media.
Jaren has been published in Sports Illustrated, ESPN Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, NCAA Champions Magazine, The Huffington Post, Wired, Gizmodo, BYU Magazine, The Ensign, The New Era, The Liahona, Volleyball Magazine, and hundreds of books and publications. His work has also appeared in thousands of newspapers and websites across the country.
Jaren and his wife Kara are the parents of four wild kids and reside in Orem, Utah.
